Utah rules for a solar floor

Telemarketer registration

Utah requires some telephone sellers or telemarketers to register or be licensed before calling there. Annual seller registration and bond with Division of Consumer Protection. Check the exemptions before your floor dials Utah.

Utah Code 13-26-102

Calling window

Utah sets its own window: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; no Sundays or legal holidays. It covers telephone solicitations to residential or cellular phones without consent. Holidays: no solicitations on legal holidays without prior express consent. Set the dialer to the narrower of the state and federal windows.

Utah Code 13-25a-103(3)

Do not call list

Utah relies on the National Do Not Call Registry. State law bars unsolicited calls to numbers on the federal registry.

Utah Code 13-25a-108

Automated and recorded calls

Utah has its own law on automated or recorded sales calls. Automated dialing systems need prior express consent or a business relationship. It can be stricter than the federal rules.

Utah Code 13-25a-103(1), (2)

Recording calls

Utah allows recording with one party's consent. A party, or one party's prior consent, may intercept.

Utah Code 77-23a-4(7)(b)

Utah requires nonexempt telephone sellers to register with the Division of Consumer Protection, bars telephone solicitations to residential and cellular phones without prior express consent before 8 a.m., after 9 p.m., on Sundays, and on legal holidays, and restricts automated dialing systems.
