Nevada requires some telephone sellers or telemarketers to register or be licensed before calling there. Only sellers using premium, investment, and similar pitches under chapter 599B. Check the exemptions before your floor dials Nevada.
NRS 599B.010, 599B.080Nevada sets its own window: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time. It covers solicitation at a residence, and automated dialing device calls. Set the dialer to the narrower of the state and federal windows.
NRS 598.0918(3); NRS 597.814(2)(a)Nevada relies on the National Do Not Call Registry. Attorney General finding adopts the Nevada portion of the national registry.
NRS 228.540, 228.590Nevada has its own law on automated or recorded sales calls. A natural voice must explain the call before the recorded message. It can be stricter than the federal rules.
NRS 597.814Nevada's recording consent rule is unsettled in the sources reviewed. Phone rule pairs one party consent with an emergency. Announce recording and confirm with counsel.
NRS 200.620, 200.650Nevada uses the Nevada portion of the National Do Not Call Registry, treats telephone solicitation at a residence between 8 p.m. and 9 a.m. as a deceptive trade practice, restricts automated dialing messages, and requires registration for sellers making certain premium or investment pitches.
Solar installers must give a cover page and a recorded verbal walkthrough of the agreement, and buyers can rescind until the third business day, or the tenth if they are 60 or older, with an added rescission period after on site survey changes. A violation is a deceptive trade practice, and a knowing violation makes the agreement voidable.
Official sourceNevada gives buyers 3 business days to cancel covered home solicitation sales (sales of $25 or more). Nevada's solar statute separately gives buyers 60 or older until the tenth business day to rescind a solar agreement. NRS 598.180
