Oregon rules for a solar floor

Telemarketer registration

Oregon requires some telephone sellers or telemarketers to register or be licensed before calling there. Telephonic sellers making listed offers register with Department of Justice. Check the exemptions before your floor dials Oregon.

Or. Rev. Stat. 646.551, 646.553

Calling window

Oregon sets its own window: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; three solicitations per 24 hours. It covers sales calls and texts to parties; business to business excluded. Set the dialer to the narrower of the state and federal windows.

Or. Rev. Stat. 646.563(1)(b); 646A.372(5)

Do not call list

Oregon relies on the National Do Not Call Registry. State law bars solicitations to numbers on designated federal registry.

Or. Rev. Stat. 646.569, 646.572

Automated and recorded calls

Oregon has its own law on automated or recorded sales calls. Rules for automatic dialing and announcing devices, including texts. It can be stricter than the federal rules.

Or. Rev. Stat. 646A.370 to 646A.374

Recording calls

Oregon allows recording with one party's consent. Phone calls: one participant; video conferences: all informed.

Or. Rev. Stat. 165.540(1)(a), (c)

Oregon limits telephone solicitations, including texts, to 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and three to a party in 24 hours, bars solicitations to numbers on the designated federal do not call registry, and requires certain telephonic sellers to register with the Department of Justice.
